Yakov Petrus Van Zyl

Associate & Conveyancer

Studied at the University of Stellenbosch. He was admitted as an attorney and conveyancer on 7 April 1995 and 7 November 1997 respectively.He has more than twenty years of experience and has practised independently since his admission as a solicitor and conveyancer. He has extensive experience in conveyancing, property law, expropriations, subdivisions, registration of townships, consolidations and registration of certificates of title.He is an experienced lawyer and conveyancer and his knowledge provides our firm with a great capacity.

Anita Joko

Candidate Attorney

Ms Anita Joko obtained her Bachelor of Administration degree from the University of Free State in 1999 and an LLB degree from the University of Western Cape in 2012.From 2003 to 2013, she worked as a senior administrator at SAPS. In 2013 she joined the Department of Justice as Office Manager until 2021 when she resigned to pursue her legal clerkship at Mphahlwa Ndlamhlaba Incorporate (The Tenderer).Ms Joko chose this firm because it offers a range of legal services and has been in existence for some time. Anita Joko has the right to appear before the lower courts including regional court. Since she has been working at the firm, she has also been involved with important cases that the firm has handled. One of these cases was also reported in the 'Law Reports'.

Onezwa Siko

Candidate Attorney

Her LLB degree was obtained from the University of Western Cape in December 2020. Ms Siko joined the firm in 2021 to continue her articles. She is freshly qualified and brings with her a lot of energy and an inquisitive mind.During her school years, she was active in the Black Lawyers Association Student Chapter. Her main goal was to advocate for access to justice, constitutional rights and transformation in the legal profession.Ms Siko has the right to appear in the lower courts including Regional Court. Since joining the firm, she has been exposed to important cases that the firm has handled. One of these cases was also reported in the Law Reports.

Ntsikelelo Nteta

Candidate Attorney

Mr Nteta graduated from Tsholomnqa High School in 1980. In January 1981, he was employed by the SA Post office as a clerk. In 1983, he enrolled at Rhodes University East London Division (Rhodes) on a part-time basis for a BCom degree in Accounting. In 1988 he graduated from Rhodes University with a BCom degree, majoring in accounting and mercantile law.In 1988, he moved into the field of commerce and industry, where he worked in the finance department of various companies, notably Transnet, Auditor General and CKI FM in Bhisho. His responsibilities included financial and risk management. He obtained an Honours Bcompt degree from Unisa in 1989 and a Master's degree in Business Leadership, also from Unisa, in 1999. In 2006, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant through Transnet TOPP. After qualifying as a chartered accountant in 2006, he obtained two more qualifications, namely a Diploma in Advanced Taxation in 2010 and an LLB qualification in 2019, both obtained from UNISA.He joined Mphahlwa Ndlamhlaba Inc. as a trainee solicitor in April 2022. His extensive knowledge in finance, taxation and risk management will enable our firm to make calculated decisions in all respects and be very thorough in handling client matters. His experience means that the firm is now able to advise on tax and financial matters, focusing on legal aspects relevant to the above areas.

Quimby Seogiloe Clifford Mokatsane

Conveyancing Secretary

Clifford is the practice manager and also the conveyancing secretary. He has over 15 years of experience in the field of conveyancing and has dealt with the registration of common conveyances, expropriations, deceased estate, consolidations, subdivisions and registration of powerline servitudes Absa and Nedbank mortgage bonds.He started his practice at Mfazi Kose Attorneys when the firm registered nearly 1200 expropriation transfers for the CITY OF CAPE TOWN and handled the registration of mortgage bonds for ABSA and Nedbank. He was with Mfazi Kose Attorneys from 2003 to 2014.
From 2014 to 2016, he moved to Nongogo Nuku Inc to look after Eskom easements.
He then worked at Morake Incorporated from 2016 to 2020.
He then moved to Mphahlwa Ndlamhlaba Incorporated on 1 February 2020. He is still with us today and the firm still benefits from his knowledge of conveyancing. He also assists with the administration of estates of deceased persons.

Sisipho Ngadlela

Company Receptionist

Sisipho is the face of the company. She is the receptionist of the firm. She has worked at V&A Waterfront Watershed as a sales assistant and also has experience with collections. She was also employed at ARA (Anthony Richards & Associates) where she was solely responsible for collections. Therefore, she is a real asset in this respect.

Yongeza Mphahlwa

Director & Partner

Yongeza Mphahlwa is a director and partner at Mphahlwa Ndlamhlaba Inc. He holds a B.Com LL.B from the University of the Western Cape (UWC) and graduated in 2010 and 2013 respectively. He holds a Diploma in Insolvency Law from (UP)He did his articles at Halday Attorneys from 26 June 2013 to 27 July 2015. He was admitted to practice on 7 August 2015. He joined Venfolo Attorneys Incorporated as a Professional Assistant on 15 September 2015. He resigned on 31 July 2016 to join his current partner and establish his office.He handles general civil and criminal litigation, Labour matters, estate planning and estate administration. During his time at Venfolo, he learned the following areas. Civil Litigation, Labour, Evictions, Estate Administration and Criminal Law. Since its inception, the firm has represented individual clients and the City of Cape Town.The firm has been registered with the City of Cape Town database for six years and Mr Mphahlwa has handled a variety of matters on behalf of individual clients and the City of Cape Town. He has the right to appear before all South African courts.

Phumlani Ndlamhlaba

Director & Partner

Phumlani Ndlamhlaba is a director and partner at Mphahlwa Ndlamhlaba Inc. He graduated LLB from UWC in 2012. From September 2012 to September 2014, he worked and did his articles at Nongogo Nuku Incorporated under the leadership and guidance of Director Lister Gcinikaya Nuku, who is now Honourable Judge L.G Nuku. Nongogo Nuku was one of the largest law firms in Cape Town. Its clients included Absa Bank, Standard Bank, Telkom, Sanral, Eskom, the City of Cape Town and the Road Accident Fund. Therefore, Phumlani Ndlamhlaba learned about different areas during his clerkship. He spent more time on Eskom Powerline Servitudes registration, City of Cape Town litigation, evictions and debt collection. He also handled personal injury matters on behalf of the RAF. He was admitted to the bar on 4 December 2015 and was an associate at Nongogo Nuku Inc until 24 August 2016.He joined Yongeza Golden Mphahlwa as a partner and director in early September 2016. At Mphahlwa Ndlamhlaba, he deals with general litigation and estates, personal injury, public liability, debt collection, family law, tax law and employment law. He also has experience with City of Cape Town instructions, such as litigation, evictions and defending the City of Cape Town against public liability claims. He has the right to appear before all South African lower courts, the High Court, the Supreme Court of Appeal and the Constitutional Court.
